The westside needs lower cost housing for workers, both for purchase and for rent, We appreciate developers who would sacrifice profit in order to provide housing that the workers who make Maui go, can afford.
I’m a 55 year old female professional working resident on West Maui, an entertainer for over 35 years and over 13 years on west Maui. I’m in full support of Pualelehua, especially since the economic impact of Covid, rising rental cost, gas, traffic, parking and plain lack of housing near my primary work place has been a stressful burden. I fully support and hope to be able to purchase a place of my own or at least rent something clean, comfortable that I can afford. I am still recovering from the loss due to covid lock downs and the cost of living.
Aloha! I support this project and all truly affordable housing projects proposed for Maui, but I cannot stress enough that west Maui especially needs more truly affordable housing opportunities. Mahalo.
