long waited development. They should be offered to those who signed up when it was first offered the Pulelehua when it was with Maui Land and Pine. It must have the filter qualification process so the mainland outsiders do not take advantage over the local residents.

Finally, at last. There needs to measures that ensure that the housing - on any market level - that is intended mainly for Kama’aina or those with long standing family ties that want to return to their ohana is not purchased by anyone with tons of money, looking to profit from those of is that call Maui our home for generations and are not looking to escape the rat-race of the ‘mainland’ that is currently plaguing our state. We do not have the luxury to pack up our luxury autos, sell our million dollar homes and seek out paradise. We just want to have four walls, running water, electricity and a safe place to live out our lives that don’t include early retirement, dining out at $30+ per entree or vacationing several times a year. The decent, hard working kama’aina - in my view - those that are not seeking a kama’aina discount - need guidance and assistance in making the ‘American Dream’ a reality rather than watching as our much needed affordable housing being occupied by those that have relocated.

Affordable housing on west side is needed desperately. I e been looking forward to owning my own home for a very long time and this now seems to be an opportunity that can make that possible

I support Pulelehua. I am a County of Maui Ocean Safety Officer/First Responder, working on the West Side of Maui. This would be a great opportunity for me to be a home owner, and live near to where I work.

West Maui is in desperate need of workforce housing. The hospitality industry is in need here in Lahaina and people can’t afford to live and work here. The rents are skyrocketing. I want to make this my permanent home and need housing like Pulelehua to make it possible. I have lived here 9 years and have been waiting for a housing project like this specific one. Please approve it!
