Maalaea WWTR vote
Aloha Council members,
I implore you to help us be good stewards of the land and waters surrounding Maalaea and ask for your vote to implement the funding to support the new wastewater treatment plant for our area. Taking advantage of the federal funding from the infrastructure bill for this project will make a positive impact on the ecology of the island for years to come. Without it, undoubtedly there will be issues with water quality for years to come. We NEED your vote to turn this situation into a positive outcome for all.
Kind regards,
Dianne Rascia

Please support Maalaea Water Treatment Plant
Dear Maui County Council Members,
I implore you to support the addition of $9.5 million to the fiscal year 2023 budget so a state-of-the art wastewater treatment plant can be built in Maalaea. This is an essential investment to restore health to Maalaea Bay – a unique asset not only to Maalaea but to all Maui residents and visitors. Please provide veto-proof support for the amendment to the county budget that provides for a regional wastewater sewer system and treatment plant for Maalaea – for all of Maui, and for Maalaea Bay.
Sincerely,
Kim Christfort

For the Ma'alaea Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility
I am writing this letter in support of Kelly King’s amendment to the County of Maui budget to include $9.5 million of funding for a new Ma'alaea Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility in the 2023 budget. The proposed centralized waste treatment facility will bring the 640 condo units in Maalaea which currently use 10 different and old septic systems with injection wells close to the ocean onto a modern state of the art sewage treatment plant. I have owned my condo in Maalaea for over 30 years and the sewage treatment plant in our complex and many along the street have been marginally functional for years and all the while knowing that the injected treated sewage being pumped into he injection wells leached into the ocean. Building this treatment plant will eliminate this environmental hazard and bring the village of Maalaea a proper sewage system which is a huge positive for the island of Maui. Sincerely Bruce and Amy Bernhardt
Please support the Maalaea Regional Wastewater Initiative
As longtime owners in Maalaea we ask the council to support the Maalaea Regional Wastewater Initiative. This will drastically help restore the water quality of Maalaea Bay and prevent further degradation of the ecosystem.
Thank you for your consideration.

Waste water system
I support the waste water system and should be paid for by Maui. No other housing condos paid for theirs and we have paid taxes just like them. Thank you.

Maalaea Regional Wastewater Treatment System
Dear County Council members:
I am writing to urge your support of the proposed $9.5 million expenditure to develop a Regional Wastewater Treatment System for the community of Maalaea. This project is urgently needed to protect Maui County citizens and to restore the health of the Maalaea Bay ecosystem, and the potential for federal funding adds further weight to the public interest favoring approval. Please vote in favor of this important project. Sincerely, Theodore Roberts

Wastewater Plant
To whom it may concern:
I am a homeowner in Maalaea. I urge you to please reconsider funding the new wastewater plant in Maalaea. If the new plant is owned and operated by Maui County it would be eligible for the Clean Water Act state revolving funds. This is an opportunity not to be taken lightly. Please vote to put in the new wastewater plant.
Thank you,
Lynn Grady

Maalaea Wastewater treatment
We would like to once again express our appreciation that the county may improve our Maalaea ocean environment by eliminating the need for injection wells, and reduce our need for clean fresh water by making treated water available for irrigation.
Thank you very much.
