In support of all survivors, please advance CBS-1169 with a FY2027 budget amendment of $1.6 million to start design work to move forward on reef-safe UV municipal effluent disinfection installation at the Kahului-Wailuku Wastewater Reclamation Facility.
DEM Director Agawa testified in budget hearings that there were material reasons why even design/computer work could not advance until no earlier than FY2028, but a long UIPA process revealed that there are no material constraints that can be quantified, etc. Presumably, the work can begin as soon as this July if a budget amendment is passed.
The people will have a steeper battle to regain stability if the County continues to expose them to pathogens from intentional discharges of municipal effluent in nearshore recreation areas inside injection well plumes, such as Cove Park and Kanaha, without appropriate safety measures. FlushAware.com has effluent data for that and all other major treatment plants across Hawaiʻi. Ground-Water Nutrient Flux to Coastal Waters (Hunt 2007) at tinyurl.com/Hunt-2007 shows the south Maui injection well plume. kaiaction.org happens to have been configured to secure philanthropic funding for the actual construction at zero cost to taxpayers, with 0% donor overhead.
Infections (even undetected) can lead to worsening, or even comprise the causative source, of many of the medical conditions the presenters have studied.
Also, people are well advised to obtain full-exome genetic testing. A proven procedure is to pay for an out-of-pocket consultation at Genome Medical (~$200):

And try to access a whole-exome test like this one from GeneDx, which many insurance providers cover completely:

Specify a gum swab vs. blood! Way easier.
Mahalo for your hard work!
