Clean Harbors would take this debris for 160 M if it is not hazardous. If it is hazardous, we need to get this debris in a subtitle C landfill. Governor says the debris removal will cost 1.2 billions. So this will save us all so much money and our environment. We can get the people of Lahaina home sooner, without all this debris that we keep looking at it as an opportunity for many businesses to make a lot of money. Truck companies, waste management companies, remediation companies..they all profit from this debris. The county wants this debris in its own landfill, to get the money from FEMA, Komar wants this debris to get the FEMA money. This is all disaster capitalism. County, komar, truck companies, USACE AND FEMA double handling the debris, ECC company…everybody takes the longer way to make as much money as possible out of this, at the expense of Lahaina people getting the lots cleared as fast as possible, Olowalu environment getting contaminated, central Maui, all the extra transportation, everything will just affect us the people of Maui, while everybody keeps profiting out of this debris. Even the county, why don’t they want this debris to be taken away from the island, when we have limited space in our Landfills?

I Tarsis Rich want to take the opportunity to show up for Lahaina's survivors and community in strong support of putting people over profit. Please understand the sense of THEIR urgency to move forward and get back to their homes.
I strongly support: IN CONDEMNATION BY EMINENT DOMAIN FOR THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY INTERESTS KNOWN AS LOT 1-B, CENTRAL MAUI SANITARY LANDFILL SUBDIVISION FOR PHASE VI EXPANSION OPERATIONS (GREAT-5(5)).
    Thank you.

If there is going to be as decisive of a tool as imminent domain used to acquire the land to use as the permanent disposition site, please use it intelligently. Don’t just dig a pit and fill it with toxic material. Please utilize the several alternative technologies proposed to process the ash and take intelligent steps for the county. Thank you,
    Spencer

My spouse and I are full time Maui residents who are STRONGLY in SUPPORT of eminent domain for Lot 1-B in Central Maui for purposes of moving forward with the expansion of the landfill. As residents, my spouse and I have the right to control what is paid for this necessary property by eminent domain as a right that is afforded to us. The people have spoken and we must move forward with the development of this site. Mahalo

We need to get the central Maui landfill expansion by condemnation by eminent domain bill passed. This is essential in getting the clean up process of Lahaina done. The community voted for this particular site and we need the support of all the council committee members to get onboard and pass this bill. Mahalo for your consideration.
