GREAT-14 Reso 23-194 RESOLUTION 23-194, RELATING TO DEVELOPING A COMPREHENSIVE RECOVERY AND RESILIENCY PLAN IN RESPONSE TO THE ISLAND OF MAUI'S TRAGIC WILDFIRES OF AUGUST 2023 (GREAT-14)
Focus: Housing, zoning, and permitting. My statement about the water does certain to all three of these.
Without the infrastructure for Water and waste, there is no housing, no zoning and no permitting.
Matthew Bachman at least was focused on the Categories.
Chairperson:
· Chairperson stated:
Ø Focus on where the holes are, birds eye view, not in weeds.
Ø Overall look regarding the resolution as it stands.
Ø Each committee needs to know what "they" are focusing on.
· Chairperson states, “She has a plan in mind, a resolution.” No one knows what each are.
· Chairperson spoke if a resolution that we (public) have not seen. She stated, “I have a resolution.” Please make that available to public.
· Chairperson stares, “We have a compilation of information from the community. Remy: has note from testimonies and is compiling. Request was made to provide to Committee/Council. Please also provide for the public.
· Chairperson states that she has a standing meeting every two weeks with administration. Does she bring that info back to her committee?
All presentation should be available for public prior to any meeting?
Mr. Nishita presents information on the Maui County Recovery Framework.
The Office of Recovery seems to be the driver regardless of what facet of recovery anyone is meeting about.
This meeting left me with a whole lot of questions.
However, Mr. Nishita answered yes to the last two questions. Actions speak louder than words.
