Please keep Maui as organic as possible. These chemicals are not good for anyone and we do not really know long term exposure risks. Mahalo

Conventional farmers have 445 acres as a resource for them in the first ag park. Itʻs time to reserve the next 262 acres for organics.
Also, bill 160 asks that the new 262 acres be reserved for organic practices. This doesnʻt mean that farmers have to be certified organic. It just means that they have to comply with all the requirements for organic farming.

    Aloha,
A commitment to organic is a commitment to a sustainable future. Organic practices are less expensive in the long run, with higher yields. They give back rather than just take. They build soil, properly utilize nutrients and bring a higher yield at market. Developed soil needs less water as it holds moisture in the bio matter, making it more compatible for the issues we’re dealing with on Maui. Kula is near the top of the watershed, meaning any pollution permeating the soil there will affect all lower area’s water supplies. This is another chance to steer Maui in a sustainable direction to provide homes for future generations. Easter Island had just as much chance as Hawai’i to be the most beautiful place, different decisions clearly create different results. Please use your votes for a healthy direction.
    Mahalo,
