BFED-32(10) Rule 7(B) AMENDMENTS TO PROMOTE EQUITY IN REAL PROPERTY TAX LEGISLATION, INCLUDING SECTIONS 3.48.361 AND 3.48.466, MAUI COUNTY CODE (BFED-32(10))
There needs to be an audit of the Real Property Division operations. I am not saying there is wrongdoing, but there is no third-party oversight and they seem to interpret and implement the rules according to the political climate. Equity should be defined. Whatever the council determines that definition to be can only be implemented correctly with outside oversight of the department. They cannot be allowed to police themselves. This can only invite corruption at some point. With everything happening regarding corruption in the state and county itself there shouldn't even be the slight possibility or perception of this.
