Resolution 22-122 A Bill for an Ordinance Approving A Collective Bargaining Agreement For Bargaining Unit 11 Between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2025.
The Hawaii Fire Fighters Association (HFFA), Local 1463, IAFF, AFL-CIO, represents more than 1,900 professional and 800 retired fire fighters throughout the State, which includes more than 300 Bargaining Unit 11 (BU 11) members serving with the County of Maui Fire and Public Safety Department.
HFFA strongly supports Resolution 22-122 which commits to funding the cost items awarded by arbitration to the Hawaii Fire Fighters Association (HFFA) Unit 11 for the contract period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2025. The April 25, 2022 Arbitration Panel Award reads:
“Effective July 1, 2021, and every July 1 thereafter, no salary increases for their first year, three percent (3%) salary increases for their second year, four percent (4%) salary increases for their third year, four percent (4) salary increases for their fourth year, with step increases in every year as set forth in the Union’s Final Position Statement.”
The HFFA and the Employer Group reached agreement for the Employer-Union Health Benefit Trust Fund (EUTF) employer contributions.
The Employer Group, HFFA and the Panel fulfilled the statutory requirements and this award is fair. On behalf of the HFFA members and Executive Board, we respectfully urge you to commit funds to meet the terms and conditions of the arbitration award. Thank you for the opportunity to testify.
