Aloha Councilmembers,
I humbly ask for your support of Lānaʻi Kīnāʻole’s request to plan, design, and permit an adult day care facility on Lānaʻi. Our elder care services are quite limited and there are no adult day care/health services available on island.
Having spent her entire life on Lānaʻi, my mother turns 92 next month. She needs help with daily living tasks and right now my family and I have the capacity to help her. If her needs increase I will need to quit my job and take care of her full-time. There are others in the community that are in a similar situation.
It is a privilege to care for her and we are blessed to have her in our lives. Having a place that she could go to during the day where we know she would be well taken care of provides a much needed option should we need it. Please support an adult day care facility on Lānaʻi. I appreciate your consideration.

I am a 27 year resident of South Maui. My name is Bonney Esbensen. Please support Maui County Councilmember Kelly King’s proposal that the Fiscal Year 2023 budget includes $9.5 million to build the Mā’alaea Wastewater Reclamation System. It is time to replace Mā’alaea’s outdated injection wells with Membrane Bioreactors. It is time to prioritize the continued well-being of residents on land and sea, for Maui’s future. Please welcome 21st century technology to reverse the pollution of our ocean in Mā’alaea. Give nature a chance to recover. Mahalo to Maui’s elected leadership for voting to Malama ‘Aina! Mahalo Councilmember King for your advocacy.
Aloha Committee Members,
We are long time residents and strong supporters of funding $9.5 million for a new Maalaea Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility in the 2023 budget! We realize the importance of ridding our community of injection wells and also realize the benefits afforded to our coastal and marine ecosystems with the necessary upgrades.
We respectfully request that you approve this funding. It is the right thing to do for our community, our economy, our waters and our Valley Isle!

Please include 9.5 million dollars for funding a Ma’alaea Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility in the 2023 budget. Help save the bay for future generations.
Thank you
