I would like to thank Chair King and the committee for making time to hear the presentation and to consider the possibility of holistic, full life cycle, sustainable solutions that address an array of concerns including wastewater treatment and disposal, watershed management and erosion control, ocean protection and ocean water quality management, water conservation and reuse, soil enhancement, and carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation. Ma'alaea has the potential to be a shining example to the island, state, and the world of how to implement truly sustainable practices.
