My name is Peter Pak, and I am a parent of a keiki who plays soccer every week at Kahului Community Park. Being able to play alongside other children has been a very big developmental activity for my son. Not only is he outside exercising, he is learning many other social skills as a child. For those reasons, I oppose this act. Please consider how this will affect our Keiki in the community. Mahalo for your time and consideration.

My name is Tom Creagh director of soccer of Maui FC. We play soccer in both the Hawaii Soccer Federation (HSF) league and HYSA leagues in the Fall and Spring. We play our games and practice at the Kahului Community Park every week. We have to share a soccer field with another club so there is already a shortage of field in Kahului. Ayso got the permits for the Fall league and now we are scrambling around to find fields. We have players ages 6/7/8/9. If we can’t find practice space we can’t play and the Keiki suffer. I oppose this. We all respect Hale Mokua and what they do. But we need more fields not less fields.
