IT-35 STOP SIGN ON HAIKU ROAD (HAIKU)
Aloha! My name is Michelle Napualani Kitashima. I am in opposition to putting a stop sign on Haiku Road. I drive this road almost every day. I can tell you from my experience that the real problem is that people don't stop. If it turns into a four way stop, the post office driveway will be blocked more and when school is in session Roots school will be affected. I feel the solution could be to update the three other stop signs. Write in big white letters on the ground "STOP". Unfortunately a lot of people don't see the stop sign or they just ignore it. Most people go slowly through there so I feel it works just fine the way it is. The report shows no history of accidents. Everyone just needs to STOP at the stop sign and pay attention. Maybe post a sign before the Mauka stop sign that says "THREE WAY STOP AHEAD" Just a suggestion. Mahalo for your time. Aloha!
