Maui's Charter requires our budget to include an accounting of all funds that are due to the County. This budget does not include a list of amounts that are due to the county from 1000's of 3-lot-or-less deferral agreements and as such is in violation of the charter.
Past councils refused to deal with this issue and it ended up at the feet of the auditor for no good reason and to no good end because the auditor is now refusing to report his findings? Why? Could it be that the audit will reveal past criminal conduct that will topple Corporation Counsel's stranglehold on this county?
Must citizens resort to a cease and desist action to get the council to address this long-standing issue that continues to harm every citizen of Maui County?
